R. Steve Folsom Elementary School serves as PISD's prototypical elementary school. Above all else, PISD wanted this new facility to set the bar for an environment that would support and enhance the learning that would take place within. Folsom Elementarty serves Pre-K through 5th Grade students with a core capacity for 900. It is situated in the La Cima residential development in Prosper and incorporates 150 parking spaces, play areas, as well as a master planned area for expansion of the elementary school.

The new prototype elementary school is the first of three to be brought to life under the 2003 bond referendum.
